Bohai is a soft, velvety plain jacquard, a cloth whose entire argument is surface, pile-like softness delivered through the weave so a single colour carries depth and a gentle change of tone as the light moves.

It is woven in Italy from 63 per cent viscose and 37 per cent cotton, 141 centimetres wide.

Its Martindale figure of 100,000 rubs is exceptional, which makes it that rare thing, a soft-handed cloth for the hardest-working seats in the house, family sofas, dining chairs, window seats, and it converts just as easily to cushions and heavy, quiet curtains.
