Bourton Damask is a relaxed printed damask adapted from an archival block print, the formal motif loosened by the block's soft edges so it reads as country damask rather than palace damask. It is recreated on a dual-purpose cloth of cotton and hemp, the hemp lending a dry, honest texture.
It is printed in the United Kingdom on 80 per cent cotton and 20 per cent hemp, 140 centimetres wide at 185 grams per square metre.
A Martindale rating of 43,000 rubs makes it thoroughly capable of everyday upholstery as well as curtains and blinds, a traditional pattern with a working constitution.
