Nina Campbell | Chabot

Chabot is drawn from a document in Nina Campbell's archive, an embroidery of tulips, roses, daffodils and strawberries growing within a rambling vine. The vine carries the composition, flowers and fruit appearing along it as they would in a hedgerow, and the stitching gives every element true relief.

It is embroidered in India on a blend of viscose, linen and cotton, 134 centimetres wide at 387 grams per square metre.

Embroidery of this richness is for showing, curtains, blinds, cushions, headboards and bedcovers, with upholstery reserved for occasional chairs treated kindly.
