Dora sets large stylised leaves, scored through with horizontal lines, on either side of a woven stripe, so print and weave share the cloth. The leaves are block-printed by hand, which leaves each one fractionally different, and the stripe gives the design a vertical discipline the foliage plays against. It is named after Dora Maar.
The cloth is pure linen, woven 129 centimetres wide and printed in India, at a light-to-mid 225 grams per square metre. It suits curtains and blinds particularly well, where the stripe and the drape work together, and upholstery on occasional pieces where the printed surface is handled kindly.
