Fontainebleau is a basket-weave check in pure wool, its colours graduating in ombre so the grid softens and shifts across the cloth instead of sitting in hard squares. The weave gives it a woven-blanket honesty; the ombre gives it movement. It takes its name from one of the most famous royal palaces in France.

Woven in the United Kingdom from 100 per cent wool, it comes 160 centimetres wide at 323 grams per square metre, with the warmth and slight spring wool always brings.
