Nina Campbell | Fortoiseau

Fortoiseau was inspired by a mirrored door Nina Campbell saw on a trip to India, and sets delicate monochrome birds within ornamental frames, each bird held like a small picture in its own surround. It is named after a chateau in the Seine-et-Marne that no longer exists, which suits a design about framed and vanished things.

It is made in the United Kingdom on a 147 gram paper. The framed repeat gives it unusual composure for a bird design, at home in bedrooms, bathrooms, dressing rooms and halls, and the fine drawing rewards rooms where it is seen close to.
