Nina Campbell | Fouquet

Fouquet runs lines of colourful chenille dots across a contrasting plain ground, so the pattern arrives as texture, each dot a soft raised tuft against the flat weave. The effect is orderly and playful at once, a plain with a pulse of colour beating through it. The name recalls Nicolas Fouquet, advisor to Louis XIV and the most prominent of his family.

It is woven in Turkey from viscose and cotton with polyester and a little linen, 137 centimetres wide and genuinely heavy at 730 grams per square metre.

Rated at 40,000 Martindale rubs, it is built for daily upholstery, sofas, chairs, stools and window seats, where the tufted dots are pleasing to the hand as well as the eye.
