Merlesham weaves small blocks of chenille into a diamond pattern over neutral-toned grounds, the pile blocks sitting proud of the flat weave so the geometry is felt as much as seen. It reads as a textured plain with a quiet lattice moving through it.
Woven in Italy almost entirely from recycled cotton at 140 centimetres, it is a substantial, softly handled cloth with a rub test of 40,000, dependable for everyday sofas, chairs, stools and window seats. It is a sound choice where comfort, restraint and a lighter environmental footprint are all wanted in the same cloth.
