Montacute takes an Elizabethan floral, a scrolling pattern in the spirit of sixteenth-century needlework, and gives it a contemporary treatment, the drawing simplified and the repeat opened up so it breathes on the wall. The result keeps the romance of the source without its density.

Printed in the United Kingdom, it is a pattern with genuine presence, suited to rooms that can give it space to perform, a dining room, a four-poster bedroom, a panelled hall. It carries a scheme largely on its own, needing only plains and simple stripes alongside.
