Nina Campbell | Montefalco

Montefalco is a composition of different weave structures — herringbone, checkerboard and strié among them — assembled into a patchwork effect across the cloth. It is pattern built entirely from texture, each patch catching the light differently, which gives the design quiet depth rather than contrast.

Woven in Belgium at 132 centimetres, it blends cotton, viscose and linen with a little bamboo and polyamide, giving a dry, textural handle. A Martindale result of 26,000 rubs suits it best to curtains, blinds, cushions and occasional chairs, where the patchwork of weaves rewards a closer look.
