Narrow Woven Border is a slim cotton border, four centimetres wide, woven in the key colours of Nina Campbell's decorative palette, and designed to co-ordinate with her Woodsford and Woodsford Weaves collections as well as many of her other recent fabrics. It belongs to a small family of gimps, ruches and borders conceived to finish those cloths properly.
It is woven in India from 100 per cent cotton, which gives it a flat, matt, orderly face. A narrow border of this kind earns its keep along the leading edge of curtains, the base of a valance or lampshade, the seams of cushions, anywhere a plain cloth wants a defined, tailored line to finish it.
