Nina Campbell | Orchis

Orchis is a study of orchids, delicately painted from sketches made in the Orchid House at the New York Botanical Garden and printed on cotton. The botanical pedigree shows, the flowers are drawn as individuals rather than repeated ornaments, and the design keeps the poise of a glasshouse specimen bench.

It is printed in the United Kingdom on 100 per cent cotton, 140 centimetres wide, with a fine, crisp face.

A Martindale rating of 40,000 rubs makes it unusually capable for so delicate a print, entirely fit for everyday chairs and sofas as well as curtains, blinds and cushions.
