Orvieto is a jacquard diamond trellis, woven rather than printed, and evocative of intricate tile work, the small diamonds locking together with the regularity of a patterned floor. Delivered in weave, the geometry has a low relief to it, pattern read as much by texture as by contrast.
It is woven in India from 100 per cent cotton, 137 centimetres wide, with the dry, matt face and honest handle of an all-cotton jacquard.
A Martindale rating of 33,000 rubs makes it dependable for everyday chairs, stools and cushions, and the trellis brings quiet order to curtains and blinds, a geometric that organises a room without dominating it.
