Popham is a multi-coloured vertical stripe woven with a subtle herringbone, so each band carries a fine chevron grain inside it and the repeat has rhythm at two scales, the march of the stripes and the small diagonal tick of the weave. It reads as a crisp stripe at distance and a textile of real workmanship up close.
It is woven in Italy from cotton and viscose with polyester and linen, a generous 148 centimetres wide and substantial at 540 grams per square metre.
Rated at 40,000 Martindale rubs, it is entirely capable of daily upholstery, sofas, dining chairs, ottomans, and the stripe runs handsomely down curtains of any drop.
