Sidney Stripe is reimagined from an archival document and carries a distinct Art Deco character, a wavy vertical stripe with a printed texture, adorned with embroidered stylised flowers and leaves in contrasting colours. Print supplies the movement, embroidery supplies the relief, and the period flavour arrives without pastiche.
It is worked in India on a cloth of 85 per cent linen and 15 per cent viscose, 130 centimetres wide at a light 137 grams per square metre.
The embroidered surface and light weight suit curtains, blinds and cushions first, with upholstery kept to occasional, gently used pieces.
