Nina Campbell | Strome

Strome is a herringbone stripe enlivened with bands of colour, the small chevron weave running continuously while the coloured bands pass over it, so the cloth has both grain and stripe, texture underneath and rhythm on top. It is named after Strome Castle, a ruin on a rocky promontory with views towards the Isle of Skye.

It is woven in Italy from viscose, linen and cotton with a little polyester, 142 centimetres wide.

A Martindale rating of 28,000 rubs makes it a sound everyday cloth for chairs, stools and cushions, and the stripe runs well down curtains and blinds, bringing a settled, slightly Highland order to a room.
