Turfan is a soft chenille weave carrying a multi-coloured stripe of diamond shapes, geometry delivered through texture rather than print. The diamonds sit within the stripe's vertical order, so the cloth has both direction and incident, and the chenille pile keeps the whole thing gentle to the eye and the hand.
It is woven from viscose and cotton with linen and polyester, 142 centimetres wide and substantial at 540 grams per square metre, with the low sheen characteristic of chenille.
Rated at 25,000 Martindale rubs, it serves everyday chairs, stools and cushions well, and the stripe runs handsomely down curtains, where the diamonds read as a steady vertical rhythm.
