Weald is a plain weave built from multi-coloured textured yarns, the flecks and slubs blending into a surface that reads as a single tone from a distance and a woven mosaic up close. It is the tweed principle applied to furnishing cloth, colour hidden inside colour.
Woven in Turkey from viscose, cotton, linen and polyester at 140 centimetres, it is a substantial cloth with a rub test of 35,000, dependable for everyday sofas, chairs, stools and window seats as well as curtains. Plains of this kind earn their keep by flattering everything placed near them, picking up neighbouring colours in their flecks.
