Amelia is a corduroy on an architectural scale, its wales cut broad and deep so that the cloth reads as a series of sculptural ribs rather than a conventional cord. The viscose pile gives the rounded cords a soft sheen that shifts as the light crosses them.
Woven in Belgium from viscose with a small measure of polyester, it is 138 centimetres wide and a dense 681gsm. With a rub test of 35,000 it is best reserved for curtains, blinds and occasional upholstery rather than hard-working seating, where its deep relief can be enjoyed without wear.
