Osborne & Little | Amytis

Amytis is an embroidered diamond motif built from circles and volutes, the geometry assembled out of curves so it reads as intricate rather than severe. It is worked on a ground of silk and linen and named after the Median princess, daughter of King Xerxes.

The composition is linen with rayon and silk, 41, 33 and 26 per cent, on a 133cm width, a light cloth of around 35gsm. As an embroidery it belongs with curtains, blinds, cushions and occasional chairs rather than working seating, and the stitched relief is at its best where the light can rake across it.
