Bakst draws colourful checks from lines woven with a brushstroke effect, so the grid keeps the loose energy of a painted mark rather than a ruled one. It is named after Léon Bakst, the Russian painter and designer for Diaghilev's Ballets Russes.

Woven in India entirely from silk, it is 140 centimetres wide and 23.1gsm. Without a published abrasion result, and with silk's preference for gentle handling, it is a cloth for curtains and blinds, where the brushstroke checks and the fibre's natural light can be enjoyed without wear.
