Banyan Braid is woven on a cotton satin ground using both cut and uncut velvet techniques, so its garland of stylised leaves rises from the surface in two depths of pile, the shine of the satin setting off the density of the velvet. A border stripe frames the garland along each edge.
At thirteen centimetres it is a deep, substantial braid, closer to a woven band than an edging. It finishes plain curtains and upholstery with real presence, and can run along a pelmet or border a wall of fabric. Viscose and cotton, made in India.
