Osborne & Little | Belperron

Belperron sets broad silk stripes against contrasting ribbons of velvet, so the stripe is drawn in surface as much as colour: the silk crisp and light-reflecting, the velvet dense and shadowed. It is named after Suzanne Belperron, born in 1900, known for unusual jewellery of large stones and undulating forms.

The cloth is 67 per cent silk and 33 per cent viscose on a 135cm width, light in weight. It is a decorative fabric, best used where the two surfaces can be read together at close quarters: curtains, blinds, cushions and the occasional chair rather than hard-working seating.
