Cestino is a small-scale geometric weave with the interlaced character of classic brasserie chairs, the motif compact and evenly set. At a distance it settles into an even, basket-like texture; up close the geometry is precise and pleasingly graphic.
Woven in Turkey entirely from recycled yarn at 510 grams per metre, it is a firm, tidy cloth with a dry handle. A rub test of 30,000 suits it to domestic upholstery, dining chairs, stools and headboards, and at 141cm wide it will also make neat blinds and curtains where a small pattern is wanted.
