Crespa is a trellis of rippling diamonds worked in cut pile, the lattice rising softly from the ground so the geometry is drawn in texture and shadow as much as in colour. As the light moves, the diamonds sharpen and soften in turn.
The cloth is woven from viscose and cotton, 55 and 45 per cent, on a 137cm width at around 84gsm. A rub result of 47,000 makes it a proper working upholstery cloth, chairs, stools and sofas in daily use, and the pile surface gives cushions and curtains a quiet dimensional depth.
