Dimple is a sculpted plain, its surface worked into an all-over pattern of small hollows so that the cloth catches light in soft, irregular pools. There is no printed motif; the texture itself does the work, giving a plain fabric an unusually animated surface.
Woven in India from cotton and silk with acrylic, it is 131 centimetres wide, with a listed weight of 27.7gsm, and the silk content lends the surface a gentle lustre. It carries no rub test, so it is one for curtains and blinds, where the dimpled texture can move and catch the light at the window.
