Esparto is a semi-plain printed to resemble the grasscloth ground of the Ananas pattern, freed here to stand on its own. It takes its name from the fibrous grass used in making baskets and espadrilles, and the surface has that character, dry, woven, quietly irregular.

Grasscloth effects are among the most serviceable backgrounds in decoration, warmer than paint, quieter than pattern. It suits halls, studies, bedrooms and dining rooms, partners the Ananas design directly, and sits just as well with any pattern in the range. A 150gsm printed paper, made in the United Kingdom.
