Osborne & Little | Falda

Falda is a discharge-printed velvet of floating squares, an evocation of a modernist abstract painting in which the forms drift rather than align. The name is the Italian word for flake, as in snowflake, and the squares do seem to fall.

Made in Italy from viscose and cotton with polyester, it is 136 centimetres wide and 400gsm. A rub test result of 100,000 makes it a genuinely hard-working velvet, suited to sofas and chairs in daily use as well as to curtains that hang like a canvas.
