Freya is a field of multi-coloured diamonds worked in cut and uncut velvet, the geometry softened by the pile so each diamond reads as a cushion of colour rather than a flat shape. The two velvet techniques give the surface a quiet play of matt and sheen that shifts as you move around it.
Made in Belgium from viscose with a little polyester, it is a weighty cloth at 681 grams per metre with a full, soft handle. A rub test of 25,000 places it in domestic upholstery territory, best on occasional chairs, stools, headboards and cushions rather than the busiest seats, and at 137cm wide it will also make curtains of considerable substance.
