Osborne & Little | Gaia

Gaia is an ogee trellis embroidered on pure linen, the curved lattice stitched rather than woven or printed, so the line has the slight relief and hand-finished quality of needlework. It is named after the Greek goddess of the Earth.

The ground is 88 per cent linen with viscose and a little polyester in the stitching, and the cloth is made in Italy on a remarkable 290cm width, so full-height curtains can usually be cut without seams and the trellis climbs unbroken from hem to heading. It is a curtain cloth, and the embroidery is best kept for the window, where raking light picks out every stitch.
