Galatea rolls large waves of colour across a velvet using a spray-dye technique, so the transitions are soft-edged and atmospheric, closer to weather than to pattern. Each length carries the movement a little differently, which is part of its character.

Made in Italy from viscose and cotton with polyester, it is a generous 145 centimetres wide and 102gsm. A rub test result of 100,000 makes it a thoroughly hard-working cloth, suited to upholstery in daily use as well as to curtains, where the waves can break across a full drop.
