Gossamer is a plain with a slight vertical strié, the fine streaking giving the cloth a gentle movement that a flat plain lacks. It is light in every sense — in weight, in handle, and in the easy way it falls.

Woven from inherently flame-retardant polyester, it comes on a generous 283 centimetre width, with a listed weight of 28.6gsm, so full drops can be made without seams. It is conceived for lighter-weight curtain use, and that is where it belongs: curtains and blinds that hang long, move easily and need no lining to look finished.
