Ilaria sets multi-coloured diamonds on the diagonal in a play of cut and uncut velvet, so the pattern is drawn as much by the change in pile as by the change in colour, matt against sheen, raised against flat.
Woven in Belgium from viscose and cotton with polyester, it is 138 centimetres wide and a substantial 761gsm. A rub test result of 40,000 supports general domestic upholstery, chairs, ottomans and sofas in ordinary use, and the weight gives curtains a deep, architectural fold.
