Kolam is a stylised roundel at mid scale, the motif spaced evenly over the cloth so the pattern keeps a steady, measured rhythm across a curtain or a chair back.
It is woven from linen and silk with a rayon content, 44, 30 and 26 per cent, on a 132cm width, a light cloth of around 31gsm. The silk lends the surface a soft sheen against the dry linen ground. Its weight suits curtains, blinds, cushions and occasional seating rather than hard daily wear, and the roundel is at its most composed where it can repeat undisturbed.
