Leonore is a sumptuous tufted plain, its surface raised into a dense, even texture that asks to be touched. The name belongs to the heroine of Beethoven's only opera, who disguises herself as Fidelio to save her husband — a fittingly steadfast namesake for so dependable a cloth.
Woven in India from viscose and cotton with polyester, it is 140 centimetres wide and a deep 651gsm. A rub test of 100,000 makes it an exceptionally hard-working fabric, entirely at home on family sofas and chairs in daily service, with curtains and blinds also within its compass.
