Malabar is a garden landscape worked entirely in embroidery: elegant trees, banana palms and date palms are depicted through a wonderful array of stitches, so the scene carries the relief, variety and patience of handwork across the whole cloth.
Made in India on a ground of viscose, linen and cotton, it is 132 centimetres wide and 385gsm. It belongs where the stitching can be read at length, at curtains, blinds and panels above all, with headboards, cushions and lightly used chairs as natural companions.
