Mallord is a semi-plain chenille in tonal colourings, the slight sheen of the weft playing against a more matt ground so the cloth shifts quietly between the two as the light moves. It reads as a plain across a room and as a texture in the hand.
Woven in Italy from viscose, cotton and linen with polyester, it is 142 centimetres wide and 110.7gsm. A Martindale result of 125,000 is exceptional, well beyond the demands of heavy domestic use, so it can be put on the most worked pieces in a house, sofas, dining chairs and window seats, without a second thought.
