Mantua Cord is a velvet corduroy at mid scale, the ribs running in even, rounded columns that give the cloth an immediate sense of order and comfort. Corduroy is texture and pattern in one: the wales catch light along their length, so a plain colour never reads flat.

Made in India entirely from recycled polyester, it is a dense, weighty cloth at 799 grams per metre with a soft, deep-piled handle. It carries a stain-resistant finish and an exceptional rub test of 100,000, far beyond the threshold for serious upholstery service, which makes it one of the most practical velvets in the collection for family sofas, dining chairs and everyday seating. The 140cm width also cuts well for cushions and upholstered headboards.
