Maranta is a playful, painterly composition of fantastical trees, foliage and flowers, interspersed with passages of basket weave pattern and animal markings, the whole woven rather than printed so the drawing sits in the cloth itself.
Woven in the United Kingdom entirely from polyester, it is 140 centimetres wide and 220gsm. A rub test result of 35,000 sits just below the mark for hard-working upholstery, so it is best on curtains, blinds, cushions and occasional chairs, where its storytelling can be enjoyed at length.
