Melford is a textured semi-plain woven with a two-tone chenille yarn, the soft raised surface shifting gently in colour as light crosses it, so the cloth reads as a plain with unusual depth.
Woven in India from polyester with cotton, it is 140 centimetres wide and weighs a substantial 655gsm. A rub test result of 80,000 makes it a genuinely hard-working cloth, suited to sofas and chairs in daily use, while the chenille handle keeps it soft to the touch.
