Resilla draws narrow silk stripes with fine bands of velvet between them, a slighter, quicker rhythm than its broad-striped companions, the velvet lines reading almost as drawn rules across the silk. A resilla is a jewelled ornament of fine wire worn in the hair, and the pattern has that same fineness.

The cloth is 82 per cent silk with 18 per cent viscose on a 138cm width, light in weight and crisp in handle. It belongs with decorative work, curtains, blinds and cushions, where the alternation of sheen and pile can catch the light at close range.
