Salon Silk is a dupion, the silk woven so its natural slubs run across the cloth as fine irregular bars, which is where the fabric's character lives. Presented in an extensive palette, it sits as easily in a classical scheme as a contemporary one, doing the work of a plain while never being entirely plain.
It is woven in pure silk in India on a 137cm width, a light cloth with the crisp, papery handle particular to dupion. A rub result of 3,000 keeps it away from seating: this is a fabric for drapery and cushions, where it hangs with structure and takes the light along every slub.
