Osborne & Little | Sundara

Sundara, meaning beautiful in Sanskrit, gathers its imagery from North Africa and the Mediterranean: motifs drawn from Greek pottery, delicate flora, birds and cheetahs, all held within a repeating ogee frame. The frame gives the design architecture; the creatures and foliage within it keep the eye travelling.

Printed in Italy on pure cotton at 220 grams per metre, it is a light, crisp cloth that gathers and falls easily. A rub test of 25,000 makes it sound for domestic upholstery on lighter-use pieces, though its natural home is curtains, blinds and cushions, where the 140cm width cuts efficiently and the ogee repeat can run uninterrupted.
