Turkana prints stripes of varying widths and then embellishes them with geometric patterns embroidered in running stitch, the thread alternating colour from band to band. Print sets the structure; the needle adds the detail, and the cloth reads as layered handwork.
Made in India on a linen and cotton ground at 275 grams per metre, it is a lighter cloth with a dry natural handle and raised stitch detail. It is best where the embroidery is visible and gently used: curtains, blinds, cushions, headboards and occasional upholstery, with the 137cm width cutting cleanly for full-length drops.
