Osborne & Little | Turpan

Turpan draws interlacing ribbons of contrasting colour across a silk ground, the bands weaving over and under one another so the pattern has a sense of continuous movement rather than a fixed repeat.

The cloth is 70 per cent silk with viscose and a measure of metallic thread, on a 133cm width, light in weight and dry in handle. It is a decorative silk rather than a working one, most at home as curtains, blinds and cushions, where the ribbons catch the light differently at each crossing and the metallic thread shows only when it is looked for.
