Vallin sets contrasting coloured squares within a rectangular trellis of épinglé, the looped pile giving the geometry a soft, upholstered depth. The design is named for Vallin de la Mothe, architect at the court of Catherine the Great in St Petersburg.
Woven in Germany from cotton with polyester and linen, it is 141 centimetres wide and 86gsm. A rub test result of 45,000 supports general domestic upholstery, so it sits well on chairs, stools and cushions in regular use, and the small architectural repeat is easy to place.
