Osborne & Little | Xanadu

Xanadu takes the diamond forms of ikat and renders them entirely in embroidery, the full-coverage stitching incorporating traditional crewel work so the whole surface is built by needle. The geometry is bold; the making is patient, and both are legible in the finished cloth.

Made in India on a cotton-rich ground at 530 grams per metre, it is a heavy, densely worked fabric with real weight in the hand. Full-coverage embroidery of this kind belongs where it can be admired and spared hard wear: headboards, curtains, cushions and occasional chairs, with the 133cm width shaping well around furniture.
