An evening walk on the rue de Verneuil, a gallery window, a canvas from the 1920s signed Léon Texier — that is the origin of this rug. Its concentric circles run outward as though they could carry on past the edge, and the movement and pure colour owe an obvious debt to Sonia and Robert Delaunay, whether or not the painter ever said so. Hand-tufted in New Zealand wool.
