Agadez takes its cue from ethnic designs, embroidered in straight lines onto a straw ground in natural tones. The discipline of the stitching against the irregularity of the straw is what gives the paper its character: one element ordered, the other organic, neither allowed to dominate. It dresses a wall with texture you can read from across the room and craft you only see up close.
