Alençon is Pierre Frey's tribute to greenery and to what foliage has always meant in textile history. It is a jacquard cloth laminated to a non-woven backing, and the textured weft threads give it the depth of the seventeenth- and eighteenth-century tapestries it evokes — not a printed impression of one, but woven relief. The scale is large and unapologetic. Foret takes the design into deep green, which suits its density.
